Last night, I attended a lecture by Frank Warren, the man behind postsecrets.com. It was put on by some Bradley campus organization, and a girl in the church got a friend and I free tickets. I was excited to go — it didn’t really meet my expectations, but that’s okay. Anyway, a couple observations and quotations:
- I was in the oldest 1% of the crowd.
- Only about 5% of the attendees were male.
- I was hoping for Frank to talk more about “what this means,” or “here are the trends I see.” He hinted at these topics, but not enough for my liking.
- The open-mic time was awkward… as evidenced by awkward smatterings of applause.
- Quotable: “Sometimes when we think we are keeping a secret, the secret is actually keeping us.”
- Quotable: “I believe the every act of sharing a secret is transformative. It can change who you are.”
